Things to do

From fruit picking to punting, explore some of the best day trips and activities around our venues in Southeast Kent!

Felderland Farm

Just down the road from one of our venues, The Coach, between Deal and Sandwich, Felderland Farm is one of Kent's largest Pick Your Own farms. They grow a wide range of fresh seasonal produce, including table-top Strawberries, Cherries, Raspberries, Plums, Blackberries, Sunflowers, Pumpkins, and more!

Deal Castle

Deal Castle was built by Henry VIII and is one of the best Tudor forts in England... a must-see when you're visiting Deal!

Explore its tunnels and battlements, and learn how it helped defend the coast. With fun activities for kids and stories from the past, it’s a great day out for all ages. Walk along the seafront afterwards, past the pier, and stop by at 81 Beach Street for a spot of lunch!

Walking the White Cliffs

Stretch your legs along the White Cliffs of Dover - the views are worth it. Look out across the Channel (you can often see France!), spot a few birds, and enjoy a bit of peace and fresh air.

There's even a walk that starts and finishes at one of our pubs, The Coastguard, at St Margaret's Bay ... download Shepherd Neame's walking map here

Punting in Canterbury

Take a new angle on Canterbury by drifting along the River Stour. You’ll float past old buildings, hidden gardens, and views that you just can’t get on foot. Check out Westgate Punts for punting trips.

Canterbury is surrounded by the kind of charming villages that invite you to enjoy beautiful walks, stunning scenery, and some truly great country pubs. If you’re nearby, make sure to stop by Lower Hardres and say hello at The Granville!
